WordPress, Joomla, and Drupal Publishers Can Quickly Deploy the Popular Licensing Toolbar

SEATTLE, Washington, June 5, 2012 – More than 30 million news and feature articles on large and small websites have been tagged with iCopyright’s popular toolbar. The toolbar gives content publishers the ability to monetize innovative content services, and makes it easy for readers to share and reuse content while respecting publishers’ copyrights. Publishers can also instantly syndicate their content to other sites and track which sites have republished their content.

“iCopyright has always had a strong presence among large and sophisticated publishers who monetize their web content by offering instant reuse licenses,” said Andrew Elston, iCopyright CEO. “We think publishers of all sizes, including the smallest bloggers and independent websites, should be able to monetize their content in the same ways. By offering add-on components for the three most popular publishing platforms—WordPress, Joomla and Drupal—we have made it easy for these websites to participate in the content marketplace. Any content publisher of any size can download and activate the toolbar in less than five minutes,” he said.

Publishers who deploy iCopyright using one of these platforms pay no upfront or monthly fees for basic licensing services. When readers reuse copyrighted content, publishers monetize the uses with additional advertising inventory or direct license fees. iCopyright handles all the transactional details and remits licensing revenues to the publishers.
